Also known as holistic dentistry, our biological approach begins with a simple truth: the health of your mouth is inseparable from the health of your whole body. Every material we place and every procedure we perform is chosen with that connection in mind.

Sometimes referred to as holistic dentistry, biological dentistry is grounded in the understanding that your oral health has a direct and indirect bearing on your overall health.
That perspective shapes every decision we make, from the materials we choose to the way we protect you during treatment, so your care supports your wellbeing far beyond your smile.
A truly holistic practice is defined less by any single treatment than by a consistent philosophy, one you’ll feel in every part of your visit.
We look beyond the tooth in front of us, identifying issues that begin in the oral cavity yet may affect other parts of the body, and treating your mouth as part of your overall health.
We recognize how deeply dental materials interact with your physiology, and select biocompatible options for your treatment based on the results of your biocompatibility test.
When old mercury fillings need to come out, we follow the IAOMT’s safe-removal protocol at every step to minimize your exposure to mercury vapor.
Our dentists care about the integrity of the entire oral cavity, and use materials and procedures that are systemically compatible with you. We recognize the real impact that dental materials can have on both your dental and physiological health.
That is why we choose the biocompatible materials for your treatment based on the results of your biocompatibility test, a lab screening that helps us match each material to your individual chemistry, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
When we remove mercury (amalgam) fillings, we follow the protocol established by the IAOMT. Each measure below has been checked with a mercury vapor detector and found to reduce the mercury vapor in the air our patients and dental team breathe.
We slice across the old amalgam and lift out large chunks rather than grinding it away, all under a constant water spray that keeps the temperature and mercury vapor down.
A specialized “clean-up” suction tip surrounds the tooth, capturing amalgam particulates and vapor from the operating field before they can spread.
A rubber dam isolates the tooth while a barrier shields your face, skin, and eyes, preventing spattered particles from landing where they shouldn’t.
Supplemental oxygen keeps you breathing comfortably, while air purifiers and negative-ion generators filter the air in the room throughout the procedure.
There are many things that set our practice apart from other holistic dentists. We use only ozonated water and ozonated gas throughout your dental procedures, and prescribe supplements to take before and after treatment to support your body’s natural healing.
And because we’re trained to recognize how issues that begin in the oral cavity can surface elsewhere in the body, caring for your smile becomes one of the most meaningful things you can do for your overall health.
